Tewksbury Hospital, where Lindsay Clancy awaits her fate, has sordid history of violence
As Lindsay Clancy awaits next steps in her triple-murder case after a deadlocked jury led to a mistrial Friday, she does so from a decrepit psychiatric hospital with a history of violence.
Tewksbury Hospital — the state-run Massachusetts facility that Clancy has called home since she allegedly strangled her young children three years ago — deals with so many out-of-control patients and visitors that at one point, its security team was granted the controversial right to use batons and handcuffs on patients.
In April of this year, a visitor was arrested for attacking a pregnant staffer who tried to intervene when he punched a window and threatened to kill workers — one of at least three incidents where employees were assaulted on the job that month alone, the Boston Globe reported.
“The fact of the matter remains, it’s still an unsafe environment,” Jean Calvert-McClure, Department of Mental Health chapter president for the workers union SEIU509, told the Globe.
Boo Hoo…Who cares what type of uncomfortable situation this child murderer lives in. She made that choice when she decided to strangle her 3 children. She deserves the death penalty and maybe that will happen one way or another if it’s such a dangerous place to be. I’m sick and tired of this ‘victim’ role that surrounds Lindsay Clancy. As if she should be excused because she’s mental, which I personally don’t believe. Why would her husband have children with her if she was so mental? Lets talk about the innocent children she killed. There’s no ‘good’ way to murder your kids, but strangulation? Think about this, the first child to be killed, the other two siblings had to watch in horror as to what ‘mommy’ was doing. The second one to be strangled had to look at his dead sibling and the one still alive, probably wondering how they would end up, like their dead sibling or the one still alive. And the last one had to be in such horror knowing their fate. And think, each one had to stare into their mothers eyes wondering what they did to upset ‘mommy’ that she was doing what she was doing. When you think about how those poor children died, and wonder what was going through their little heads…if you still support Lindsay Clancy, there’s a special place in Hell for you…right beside her.
