Yet despite producing more than enough energy to meet its own needs, America still faces high gas prices, rising utility costs, and increasing dependence on global markets. This is not the result of scarcity. It is the result of policy choices that place corporate profit and global trade systems above the well\u2011being of the American people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Energy sovereignty means that the resources beneath American soil should serve the American nation first.<\/strong> Not multinational corporations. Not foreign markets. Not global pricing systems. The American people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Problem: America Produces Enough Oil, But Americans Don\u2019t Benefit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The United States produces enormous quantities of oil, in some years more than it consumes. Yet Americans still pay high prices because:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>U.S. oil is sold into a <strong>global market<\/strong>, not reserved for domestic use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Private corporations export oil to the <strong>highest foreign bidder<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gas prices are set by <strong>global benchmarks<\/strong>, not national supply<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Domestic supply tightens when exports rise<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Corporations profit while American families struggle<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To many Americans, this feels fundamentally wrong, and they are right to feel that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oil drilled on American soil should not be treated as a global commodity first and a national resource second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ending U.S. Oil Exports During High\u2011Price Periods<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A sovereign nation protects its people from economic harm. When gas prices rise, the United States should:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>restrict crude\u2011oil exports<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>prioritize domestic refining<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>stabilize national supply<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>shield American families from global volatility<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is not radical. Many nations already do this, including major oil producers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">America is the only country that produces enough oil for itself yet still allows its citizens to suffer from global price shocks because corporations are free to sell American oil to foreign buyers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Corporate Control of National Resources<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under current law, oil companies own:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the mineral rights<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the wells<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the production<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the profits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even when the oil lies beneath American soil, the public has <strong>no claim<\/strong> to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This creates a system where:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>corporations extract American resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sell them to foreign markets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>profit from global prices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>while American citizens pay more at the pump<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many Americans believe, and rightly so, that this violates the spirit of national sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Natural resources are not just corporate assets. They are part of the national inheritance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Restoring American Energy Independence<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">True energy independence is not simply producing enough oil. It means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>keeping American oil in America<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>protecting domestic consumers from global price manipulation<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ensuring stable, affordable energy for families and farmers<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>rebuilding refining capacity<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ending dependence on foreign supply chains<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>treating energy as a strategic national asset<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A New Energy Doctrine: America First, Not Global Markets First<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A sovereign nation must control its own resources. America must adopt an energy doctrine rooted in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>domestic priority<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>resource stewardship<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>economic protection for citizens<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>strategic independence<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>long\u2011term national interest<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>American oil should serve American needs first<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>American resources should strengthen American families<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>American energy should not be dictated by global markets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>American sovereignty should not be undermined by corporate export policies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The resources beneath our soil belong to the nation, not to global markets, not to foreign buyers, and not to multinational corporations. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We Believe: America is blessed with abundant natural resources, oil, gas, coal, minerals, and fertile land.
