Omar endorses Michigan Senate hopeful el Sayed as \u2018best choice\u2019 to defeat GOP\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on Monday threw her support behind Michigan Senate hopeful Abdul el Sayed, whom she called the \u201cbest choice\u201d to defeat the Republican candidate in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Omar cited the progressive candidate\u2019s opposition to corporate interests, focus on affordability, and support for universal healthcare as reasons for her endorsement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAbdul leads with his values and tapped directly into the needs of Michiganders like no other candidate,\u201d Omar said in a statement. \u201cHe is ready to win this seat and take back the Senate. He is the best choice to beat Republicans this November, and I look forward to working with him in Congress.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
El Sayed thanked the Minnesota lawmaker for her support while admiring her defiance of the Trump administration\u2019s immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis during the winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRep. Ilhan Omar is one of the most courageous and unwavering fighters in Congress right now,\u201d he said. \u201cWe need fearlessness and grit to fight back against Trump and his oligarchy. When ICE terrorized her district, she didn\u2019t bend a knee to authoritarianism \u2013 she stood with her community and fought back. I wonder how many people that voted for Ilhan Omar regret it? Zohran Mamdani? Dearborn Michigan’s Mayor, Abdullah Hammoud? I read today that market-rate rentals in NYC are at an all time high. Median rents in Manhattan jumped to $5,295, Brooklyn, $4,180. Manhattan’s median rental jumped 8%. In September of last year in Dearborn, Michigan a man at a council meeting criticized having a sign put up honoring a terrorist. Mayor Hammoud accused Barham of being racist, and Islamophobe saying Barham had posted things online that were critical of Islam and Muslims. Then the Mayor told him that even though he lives in Dearborn, he’s not welcome there and if he moved out of Dearborn, he would celebrate with a parade! Anit-White, Anti-Christian, and Anti-America people that voted these Muslims into office\u2026Welcome to the hell you made!
