Oakland activists seek to ‘CANCEL’ wealthy enclave with separate police, school district \u2014 and only 1% black residents<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oakland resident Jesse Rosemoore began the campaign to “cancel Piedmont” more than a year ago against the 1.7-square mile city with its own police force and school district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rosemoore hands out stickers reading, “CANCEL PIEDMONT” and sells $10 T-shirts bearing the provocative slogan, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
‘I felt like someone needed to bring even more attention to it, because what\u2019s going on there says a lot about our society as a whole.’<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some have referred to the city as “Oakland’s Doughnut Hole” because it is encircled by the larger city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chronicle acknowledges that residents in Piedmont have tried to make up for admitted historic efforts of racial exclusion, but those efforts have just led to more backlash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rosemoore added, “It really is ridiculous that a place like Piedmont even exists,” the 44-year-old said. “I felt like someone needed to bring even more attention to it, because what\u2019s going on there says a lot about our society as a whole.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While one in every five Oakland residents is black, the Chronicle reported that only 1% of Piedmont residents are black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wow, only a 1% black population? I can only imagine how low the crime rate is. Hmmm, maybe I’ll move there! Listen, if White people want to congregate, that’s our right. Why is it when White people want to be around their people it’s called racism, but when other races do it, it’s for the betterment of their respective race? We have all Jewish channels on TV, Blacks have their own network called BET, which stands for Black Entertainment Television, and it’s considered a great thing, but could you imagine the backlash if we had a network for White people? Cities would burn over that. If I want to congregate with my people, have a place with lower crime, less drugs, schools that actually teach real subjects, maybe even prayer in schools, and a police force that doesn’t live in fear of being called out to find low IQ animals chimping out knowing they may end up in prison for doing their job, then by God we should that that right. Blacks actually want segregation, but on their terms, which for one they want to exclude White people because we’re so racist, but they don’t want full segregation because they need us to survive. That’s what it boils down to, and when they see White enclaves developing, they fight against it because they know it’s leading to full segregation.
